Vietnam is expected to welcome 22 million foreign visitors in 2026, with tourism revenue up 25 percent from pre-pandemic levels to US$13.2 billion, Fitch Solutions predicts. “These are bright prospects for a country that is heavily dependent on international travelers and their spending,” the British research firm said in a report.
Vietnam reopened its borders to foreign tourists and lifted most of the Covid restrictions in March this year after more than two years of closure.
In 2019, it received a record 18 million foreign tourists.
His goal for this year is five million.
The government is considering issuing e-visas to citizens of other countries. It now issues 30-day single-entry online visas to people from 80 countries and territories, including Australia, India, the UK and the US.
