Low-cost carrier Vietjet Air will begin flying tourists from Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city, to the central province of Khanh Hoa later this month to speed up tourism's post-COVID-19 recovery.
This is the result of cooperation between the airline and Anex travel agency, said Bui Quoc Dai, deputy managing director of the company.
As planned, the carrier will operate two flights a week on the Cam Ranh-Almaty route from the end of this month to April next year.
The first flight is scheduled to fly from Cam Ranh International Airport to Almaty International Airport on October 25. He will return from Kazakhstan the next day. Each flight will carry between 180 and 200 passengers, Dai said.
Tourists from Kazakhstan will spend their holidays from one to four weeks in hotels and boarding houses in Khanh Hoa, go shopping and make excursions around the city.
It is expected that the first flights will bring delegations to Khanh Hoa to get acquainted with the tourism potential and advantages of Vietnam in general and the central province in particular.
In the first 9 months of 2022, Khanh Hoa received more than 2.1 million tourists, including 150,000 foreigners, which is 7.3 times more than in the same period last year.
